Did anyone camp out for the new Chick-Fil-A grand opening and get free Chick-Fil-A for a year? I decided not to go because we are moving this week and there is not a Chick-Fil-A in Connecticut! I want to know if you did go though!
Chick-Fil-A has possibly the best coupon policy in the entire world. You can use expired coupons there (those awesome calendar coupons) and you can use a coupon that states it is good for another location. Why? They are franchises and they would prefer to get your business at their location, so they will take any Chick-Fil-A coupons. Chick-Fil-A is really one of the only fast food places that my family visits on a regular basis (besides Sonic~ oh my four year old is going to be in shock when he finds that they don’t have Chick-Fil-A or Sonic in Connecticut! I may be in shock myself!)
I am giving away three coupons for a free Chicken Sandwich and since I am moving I am going to include some other random Chick-Fil-A coupons that I have compiled to these blessed winners as well. Leave a comment and you will be entered to win.

It’s the first Friday of the month and therefore it’s time for FRUGAL FRIDAY!
If you expressed interest in Samaritan Ministries in a previous comment, please email me your address so I can get them to send you a brochure with all the good info! (There is a link to the right that says email me!)
My Frugal Friday includes my last few trips to CVS. If you join our yahoo group, a coupon for a free $25 gift card with any new or transferred prescription will be emailed to you. Print it out as many times as you want and hang on to it (until it expires on 6-30.) I needed a prescription a few weeks ago for Logan and I got the free $25 gift card. It turns out I needed another prescription this week. Here’s where you have to pay attention if you are new at this: I used the first gift card to buy the 2nd prescription and then I got another $25 gift card with the 2nd prescription! Now I really need to save this one to use on extrabuck deals! (Unless I feel God asking me to give the gift card to someone else and honestly I love it when He does. There’s this beautiful process of making myself give the gift card in order to bless someone else. In the end, someone else gets blessed and we are blessed by giving it. We usually end up getting another one or God gives us something far more valuable than a gift card in return.) For example, a few months ago I gave a friend a Starbucks gift card because she mentioned she was going there. It only had $7 left on it but it would be enough to cover her family. That same day someone else gave me a $10 one. Isn’t it amazing how God works?

Shhh…. this is a secret post!
Chick-Fil-A gives out chicken for a year to the first 100 people when they open a new location. (About 52 coupons).
You have to go the night before and camp out in your vehicle until they open at 6 am. When you get there, if you are one of the first 100, you get a number and are guaranteed the coupons if you stay at the site. (So if you are not the first 100, you can go home, you only wait if you will get the coupons.)
Here is a quote from a good friend of mine who’s husband owns a Chick-Fil-A in Arizona. “The first 100 promotion is a lot of fun. It is family-friendly and a lot of folks bring their kids out with them. You can set up a tent, chairs, the whole works. At 6am the morning the store opens you get
awarded your coupons. You can use them any time at any Chick-fil-A. It is awesome.”
They are opening a new location tomorrow, so you can start camping out tonight! #02271) May 1, 2008 Camp Wisdom & 360 Grand Prairie TX

With our big move ahead of us, and all the packing we are doing, I feel like I need a serious vacation! With God’s blessings of our house sales and the generosity of good ole’ George Bush (We got that check today!), we have been able to make a financial plan to totally get out of debt sometime in May. With my husband going back to school, this has been a goal of ours for about a year now, because our new Connecticut budget does not include room for paying off any debt! (If you are looking to pay off some bills, I suggest you take a Crown Financial class or a Dave Ramsey class. I took a Crown class last fall.)
This also means we need to save money during the summer so that we don’t have to have any debt in the future. This is easier said than done when you have kids!
So what do we do about a much needed vacation? I am reading a book called, Just Hand Over The Chocolate and No One Will Get Hurt. It’s as funny as it sounds. The author talks about slowing down in life’s fast pace. One of the ways is to have an at home vacation. So I thought of this: Clean your house on a Friday. Instead of paying for a hotel, use that money to have someone come and clean your house. Get take out food, have family or friends watch your children (if they are young) for a night and plan an at home vacation. I have a friend who takes her four kids to four different friends, because they are usually more than welcome to keep one of them for an evening. Don’t expect someone to keep all of your kids if you have more than one! (Unless it’s grandma and grandpa, because they have superpowers!) Grab a movie, get dessert and you can have an beautiful 24 hour vacation at home for less!
Do you have any ideas for a vacation at home? Please share!
