1. Ideas for Babysitting- Ask a relative to babysit or swap with friends. If you have family near you, ask them if they would be willing to babysit. If you don’t have family available to help out, find a friend that you can trade off babysitting.  This can save you about $40-$50 each evening!

2. Ideas for Dinner- On date night, I love to eat out. There is something about not having to cook that makes the evening very special. Find coupons for your evening meal. Use Restaurant.com, The Entertainment Book, The Enjoy The City Book or check your local radio station’s website for something called a “Half Price Hook Up” or a “Daily Deal.” You can complete a mystery shop and you will get your meal reimbursed to you. If you don’t want to eat out, you could also have a picnic and buy a few extra special goodies at the grocery store, such as wine and cheesecake.

3. Ideas for Entertainment- You can read online websites and look for deals, such as the Free Night at The Theater that was posted on our site last month.  Use coupons! You can find them in The Entertainment Book. Go somewhere that is free such as Barnes and Noble and Half Price Books! You can also watch a movie at home. Go apple picking or blueberry picking and save money on what you would have paid at the grocery store.

4. Ideas for Thoughful Gifts- Write a poem, pick flowers, leave a note, or making something by hand! It’s the thought that counts! My husband went on a trip one time while we were still dating and left me a “message in a bottle” type gift that had a Bible verse or encouraging word in it for me to pick one out and read for every day he would be gone. This was a really cool idea!
