The Homeless Man
I wanted to share this story:
~The writer would like to be Anonymous~
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
About three weeks ago I was walking out of a grocery store and saw a homeless man pushing a grocery cart full of coke cans. I happened to have $100 cash in my purse to do a little Christmas shopping for my kids while they were in school. I had saved the $100 bill for a few months as a Christmas fund, however the minute I saw the man, I knew, I was supposed to give him the blessing. I knew God was speaking, “Will you give all you have with you to this man?” I literally knew I could not leave the area without obeying God’s call and honestly I didn’t want to. I drove around in a circle so I could get closer to him, my heart pounding with excitement. How was I going to give this man the money? I pulled around to another street to get closer to him and ended up pulling out right next to him. I rolled down the window and said “Excuse Me, God would like you to have this.” He stopped, reached over and said the most sincere “Thank you! It was a very special and heart grabbing moment. As I pulled away, I began to bawl like a baby and then I realized why. I was merely giving him financial help, yet my heart yearned to take him home. I cried all the way to pick my children up from school. I knew I couldn’t keep that man or give him all the things he needed so I would have to let go and trust God to provide for him. Through taking my gift, the homeless man had ended up blessing me more than I could have ever imagined. And God knew the whole time that I would be blessed if I just obeyed.
God is so good and I know I’ll never be the same.
If you feel led, leave a comment telling how has God been good to you this holiday season.

God is so good and faithful! Even through these economic hard times, I have been able to continue to be a stay-at-home Mom. I am MOST grateful for that this year!

What a wonderful story. I sponsor a family from a womens
shelter for Christmas each year. I love to shop
for them more than my own family. As I picked
out a little babydoll for the 3 year girl, I started
to cry–’please keep her safe’, I whispered to
the doll.
I wish I could take all these little kiddos home
and keep them safe. One of the most important
gifts we can give, is to give back. I truly believe this.

I’m in my 50s and have had many years of handing out whatever is in my pocket or wallet when we see or hear about a need. The first time I realized God could not be outdone in generosity occured about 10 years ago. A woman at church mentioned needing special sneakers for her son who had fallen arches. She didn’t have enough and was terribly upset. I reached into my jeans and pulled out the $70 that was in there to help her along. That night my husband came home and told me that when he was dropping off some used equipment at the dump, a guy came along and offered him $200 for it. It was useful as parts to the fellow. That really caught my attention as it was more than twice what I had given away. Although we don’t keep track of what we donate, many times we’ve noticed that on the day or shortly after we make a big donation, the money comes right back to us plus much more as either a bonus in my husbands paycheck, someone charging us significantly less for something we need because they want to “move it to make room for something else.” Over and over this happens in many different ways. God can never be outdone in generosity.

What a beautiful story! Thank you for sharing it!
I just wanted to share how good God is. He continues to amaze me. We have seen one bad thing after another in our family lately. My Husband lost his job, both cars died, both our computers died, and other hardships have been heaped upon us. It is through these hard times that we are drawn closer to the Lord and He is able to show us first hand His provision.
One afternoon I was getting ready to get groceries for our family. Before I left I checked the mail, someone had anonymously sent us a gift card to the grocery store. Then a few days later we got a check in the mail for a pretty big amount of money from someone who just felt led to bless us. Not more then a week after we received the money our car died. We were able to use that money to pay for the car repairs.
Oh and just this week, my husband got a job offer. He starts next week! God is so good! There are more stories I could share like this. We are so blessed! There is nothing too big for our God! I can honestly say I am thankful for these hard times.
Thanks for allowing me to share my testimony!
God bless!

I still remember a teat that God put me through over 6 years ago. I was a very new Christian, I don’t think I really even knew what I was getting my self into, I was that NEW. It was a rainy night, I was alone at the gracery store and as I walked out of the grocery store there was an older woman (probably old enough to be my grandmother) standing out side the door looking out into the rain. I know that God told me to help the woman to her car with her groceries. I wish I could say that I followed his command. I am upset (still to this day) that I didn’t do as God had asked me to do. I took that moment as a learning step in my walk with God. And I know that he has forgiven me for not obeying but it is hard for me to forgive myself.
Thanks for your faith, and stepping out of the box.
Love,
Jen Feagans

God has held me close this entire season. I find myself thanking him many many many times a day.
I too have a story of how I didn’t follow God’s command and it haunts me.
A woman was in the grocery behind me, obviously in a hurry. She placed her orange juice on the counter and said ‘this was in the bottom of my cart and I forgot to pay for it. I’m late to pick up my children and I’ve got to go’. With that she left the store. I should have ponied up the $4 for the juice. I didn’t. I wish I had. I will next time.

After what has been a tough year, financially speaking, and getting a little behind in our Christmas Club saving, my husband and I were able to pull together enough cash to check off every name on our Christmas list. Of course, great bargains and good friends who cut us a deal or two on some handmade lovelies really helped us out too!
BSL, thanks so much for sharing the story and for all you do all year long to help us save money (and have a little fun)! You are such a blessing.

After closing the business we ran for 3 years, our future was very uncertain - not to mention the future of the 30 staff that lost their jobs too. God provided a job for The Mighty Hunter within 5 weeks, making almost the same salary but with benefits we couldn’t provide as business owners and the security that comes from working for a LARGE company. (If there is such a thing in this economy.)
We’ve been able to provide some of our closest friends that are still without jobs with a little cash to help them with their Christmases.
We’ve been blessed with learning the DEPTHS of friendships and love that results from working with GOOD PEOPLE.
Thank you for this post.
And thanks to Bee at WillBlogForShoes for the referral. I was blessed by it.

I committed this year to make Christmas all about Him and keep stress at a minimum. Satan’s had other ideas for me though and it’s been a huge battle. And of all things, my biggest stress has been figuring out what to get the kids for Christmas. Our budget has major limitations and it was going to be tough to pull off anykind of big surprise. We’ve had a blast buying for needy families this year and we are really enjoying the blessings of giving. Still I was really praying for some special gift idea for my own kids (I hope that doesn’t sound selfish!)
ANYWAY, I heard on one of my B. Moore tapes this week how God is just waiting to amaze those who will notice. I prayed this morning for God to amaze because I would be sure to notice. In less than an hour I was out shopping and came across a deal that would make the BSL proud! I bought a $400 full size POOL TABLE on clearance for $80!!!!! This has been on everyone’s wishlist for many years and NEVER thought it would be possible to bless ourselves and our unfinished basement with such bling! This will be the biggest Christmas surprise our kids have ever had! God amazed abundantly putting me at the right place at the right time. And I NOTICED!!!! Thank you Lord!
(And thanks for allowing my huge long comment!)
Merry Christmas,
Kelli

I am blessed by GOD all the time too. Right now I am praying to GOD and asking him for this house my husband and I have found and I just BELIEVE it to be the ONE that we are to live in. I know and trust in GOD if this is to be. He has given me everything I have ever wanted and I know he will continue to do so.
