Update: Restaurant.com has resolved the problem and removed the restaurant from the program. They also offered me a refund or exchange on my certificate, which I declined since the owner had agreed to honor it.

Be cautious: the restaurant I went to last night had a sign saying they no longer accept the certificates. I reminded the owner that our state doesn't allow gift certificates to expire, so he let me use it, but said that he has repeatedly asked restaurant.com to stop selling certificates for his restaurant. As of last night they're still selling them. I'm not sure what the terms are of his agreement with them, but it could get messy.
