Third House’s a Charm!
I can officially say God has given me my own fairytale. We found house #3 today and that is where this story begins…
We pulled down a private road. We saw the last house we were going to see this weekend. My heart started beating very fast because I knew that hubs would love the fact that this house had it’s own private road on it’s own private cul-de-sac. It was listed as only .24 acres. Most houses in this area have 1 acre or more and I knew hubs finds pride in owning his own land. But I knew that he would love that this house looked like it had 3 acres all to itself even though it didn’t. There was a town owned creek to the left and I remembered back to when I was a little girl and I searched for turtles in the creek behind our house. That creek would be a huge hit for the boys if we moved there for sure as well as the five wooded acres across the driveway.
As we got out of the car, it began snowing. We bundled up and went into the 1100 sq ft house. I already knew from the outside it might be the right one God had for us. The house was just listed yesterday and had it been listed one day later, we would not have been here to see it.
We went inside. It was updated and very cute. The kitchen, dining room and living room were open as all one room, which made it appear to be larger. The bedrooms rooms were huge. (It didn’t take much to get me excited about room size!) We went down into the basement and even though it was unfinished, it was another 1100 sq ft of storage and had lots of room to play and even had huge potential of being a third room in the future. The bedroom door even matched the wood color of my large rustic Texas dining room table, (which was one of the things I looked for, to see if my table would fit in the house or if we would have to sell it to live there. I know it’s silly, but I bought that table with the intentions of having my grandchildren eat at it one day!) We went outside and the snow was now peppering down.
It was a beautiful start from God to a possible new house! We then drove down the private street back to the road and then saw the one fourth a mile walk to the beautiful lake we would be members of if we bought the house. Our street had it’s own private access. Our two black labs would be in heaven if we walked to the lake and let them swim every day (when it was warm)!
So here’s the scoop. We threw out house #2. It’s out of the running. We now have house #1 and house #3. We are probably going to put an offer on house #3 but (even though the price is in our range, we need them to go down just a little bit for our budget) and if it does not work out, we will put an offer on house #1 . It’s all in God’s hands! It was a very eventful weekend and we are so excited! Snow pictures of house #3 are to come when we get home!

Reading your story I couldn’t help but think back to when we were looking to buy our very first home. We fell in love with the very last house we looked at, and as we were ready to leave, walking out the front door, the biggest, most beautiful snowflakes began to fall. IN APRIL!! We knew it was a sign from the Lord and we knew that house was ours! It was the most wonderful house we’ve ever owned! Definitely a gift from above, as I know your new home will be too. God bless!

It was so much fun to see you and have dinner at our little Mexican restaurant here - yumm. I’m so excited to see this house and to have the boys play together this summer. I’ll be praying for you!

I do hope that house #3 is the one…sounds wonderful. I was telling my hubby that I hated to see you and your family leave Texas but he told me to look at this way. “Now you’ve got a wonderful friend, who is moving to a nice (but cold) part of the country, and we now have a great reason to visit the North East!” As you stand on God’s Word, believe that he will move on the hearts of the sellers and that the price will be in your favor.
