My husband asked me to open my door on the side of the feeder today and pick up some scrap metal off the side of the road, (which I did as I was cracking up inside). It was then that I realized that we really were perfect for each other. He as a prize trash digger, has come home with anything from wood scraps to a truck load of hard wood flooring. I as a bargain shopper, have gotten $75 worth of toiletries for $8 using 19 coupons. I thought it would be fun to confess some of the things I have done as a bargain shopper.
I have at one point in time had a closet full of cake mix, icing, cereal and toys. My husband is no longer concerned when I arrive home with 12 boxes of Cheese Nips. He now says “Let’s see what you got for free!”
There was a time when I dug in the trash at the post office because JCPenney sent out $10 off $10 purchase coupons and I heard that some shoppers were digging as well. I found 5 coupons and got everyone in our family new socks and underwear for free that year. For some reason, JCPenney doesn’t sent me those coupons anymore… 
I bought our family a free magic bullet blender set with my left over extra bucks from CVS last year. There was a glitch in the computer and they were giving out $10 in Extra Bucks for buying $2 panty liners.

i am officially addicted to cvs.
where else can you get $15 in ECB’s for less than $2
bonus–the cashier tonight was in a great mood and let me get as many transactions i wanted. the batteries
deal expired tonight. i felt like i lost a best friend. i can’t wait see what new and fun deals will come out
next.
i often wonder how i can get one of those $10 off coupons at jcpenney too! i never thought to dig thru
the post office trash. i totally would do that too

Girl you rock! Im slowly learning all the tricks and trades of the coupon thing..and its awesome!! Im saving my ECB’s and have a $25 gift card for CVS…my aim is that magic bullet!

My best deal ever:
3 packs of Energizer batteries priced at 4.79,4.79, 4.99
JJ baby powder priced at 1.99
2 packs of orbit gum priced at 1.19
I used a 2/$10. coupon,
3 coupons for $ 5.00 off the energizer batteries, and
$2.00 off coupon on any JJ baby product.
Total:0.00
Because the batteries were under 5.00 the extra money took care of the tax. I ended up saving 18.94.
This is the first time I have gotten all my stuff for free(i didnt have to use any ECB’s)

Ok, this was my first deal ever with CVS and I have to confess cuz I was so thrilled:
2 Glade scented oil candles - $6.99 each
2 Glade refills - $3.29 each
1 dental floss - $1.99
Total: $22.55

$1.50 off each refill

total: $1.69 w/tax…I ended up saving $20.99
Anyways, since then I have been back to CVS almost every other day and have saved so much…I took advantage of the battery deal and only paid .29 cents for ech package. Now if I can get my hands on some of the Gillette deals that would be awesome! Thanks for introducing me to CVS and making me a junkie on saving bucks!

Bargain Lady, Your confession is a crack up. I can’t help but laugh at myself as well. I came home from Target a few months back and I was saddened that everything I had to buy I had to pay full price for as nothing was on sale and I didn’t find any Golden Deals. My husband laughed at me and said its a total game for you. I thought about it. The amount of money I spend is not a big deal as we live above the average. IT IS THE THRILL OF THE HUNT for me. Plus who doesn’t like to save money or get things for FREE. I just love Bargains. To me it is so cool to be able to find bargains and deals that I to (and I’m sure so many others) have bargains and deals stacked up in the cupboard. Stuff that I may never even use. HAHAHAHA! But oh what fun it was finding those deals.
